Dr. Thomas Ritter did both his undergraduate and professional training at The Ohio State University, receiving the Doctor of Optometry degree in 1975. He began our practice in Deer Park, Ohio in 1978. Dr. Ritter is a member of the Cincinnati, Ohio and American Optometric Associations. He has served as past president of the COA and remains very active at the state level in the Ohio Optometric Association. In 2007, he was the recipient of the OOA “Key Optometrist of the Year” award for his work with state and national legislators.
Dr. Ritter was the first ever optometric consultant at the Cincinnati Eye Institute and has served as a pediatric vision consultant for the State of Ohio for over thirty years. Over the years he has lectured nationally in the areas of sports vision and contact lenses. He was recently honored by the Blue Ash-Montgomery Rotary Club as the 2009 Entrepeneur of the Year.
In addition to playing golf and loving all types of fishing, Dr. Ritter has coached over 35 youth basketball, softball, and baseball teams and still continues to play baseball. He resides in Miami Township with his wife Karen, has 3 children, Matt, Katie, and Kristen, and is also the proud grandfather of nine.
