Dr. Matt Ritter joined Ritter Hagee Optometry in June 2002 and provides care at both office locations. He grew up in Montgomery, attended Sycamore High School, and is proud to serve patients throughout the community. He is part of the current leadership team guiding the practice’s continued growth and clinical direction.
Dr. Ritter earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2002. He enjoys the clinical challenges of primary care optometry, with a strong focus on medical eye care, disease detection, and long-term management of ocular conditions in patients of all ages.
He is certified by the International Board of Optometric Examiners in the treatment and management of ocular disease and has been involved with Glaucoma Services at the Cincinnati Eye Institute since 2003. Dr. Ritter has extensive experience interpreting advanced diagnostic testing and coordinating care for patients with glaucoma risk and other complex eye conditions. He places a strong emphasis on careful monitoring, patient education, and thoughtful decision-making to protect vision over time.
Dr. Ritter lives in Maineville with his wife, Sara, and their four children. Outside the office, he has coached dozens of youth sports teams over the past twenty years, enjoys staying active, and—now that his kids are getting older—is looking forward to exploring new hobbies, including painting and chainsaw carving.
