Ritter-Hagee Optometry was founded in 1978 by Dr. Thomas Ritter, a graduate of The Ohio State College of Optometry, who opened the practice in Deer Park, Ohio on Plainfield Road near Deer Park High School. With a growing patient base and a commitment to quality eye care, a second location was established in Morrow, Ohio in 1981.
In 1983, Dr. Mark Hagee joined the practice, helping shape its growth and reputation over the decades that followed. Through a focus on compassionate care, clinical excellence, and strong community relationships, Ritter-Hagee Optometry expanded into one of the largest optometric practices in Ohio and the Midwest. As the practice grew, both locations transitioned into modern, spacious facilities located just a few miles from their original offices.
After more than 40 years of dedicated service, Dr. Ritter and Dr. Hagee retired, proudly passing the practice to the next generation of leadership. Today, Ritter-Hagee Optometry is led by their sons, alongside Dr. McKee and a team of experienced doctors who share the same patient-first philosophy on which the practice was built.
While leadership has evolved, the mission of the practice remains unchanged: to provide excellent eye health and vision care in a caring, friendly environment. With a team of six doctors, we continue to treat our patients like family and strive to make every visit a positive experience. Our continued growth reflects our unwavering commitment to outstanding service and the trust our patients place in us.
