Not everyone is an ideal candidate for standard soft contact lenses. Common vision conditions such as astigmatism, dry eye, and presbyopia (age-related near vision changes) can make contact lens wear more challenging. In other cases, less common but more complex conditions can alter the natural shape of the eye and require advanced lens designs.

Advancements in toric and multifocal contact lenses over the past decade have dramatically expanded options for patients with astigmatism or presbyopia. Many of these designs are now available in daily, bi-weekly, and monthly disposable formats.
Advanced & Scleral Lens Options
Recent innovations in scleral contact lens technology have made it possible to successfully fit lenses on even significantly irregular corneal surfaces. Scleral lenses vault over the cornea and rest on the white part of the eye, often providing excellent comfort and vision when other lens types are not effective. For many patients with complex corneal conditions, scleral lenses may be the best—or only—viable option.
